Book Burrow

Aardvark Books has a special book and play space for children called the BookBurrow: come in and see!

Once you enter through the hobbit doorway, a magical world of imagination opens up before you: a castle to play in, a pirate ship gliding through the waves above you, forest trees in the distance and a princess seat on which to sit and read your favourite book. Or, if you prefer, you can relax on the cushions or lie on the carpet to read or play with the doll's house; you can go up into the pirate cabin and spy new worlds, or draw and write whatever you like in secret!

AND - Importantly, good news for parents and grandparents - children's books at Aardvark are HALF PRICE!

Discover the Castle in the forest, the pirate ship and the princess...

If you look carefully you will see a representation of Arthur Aardvark at the top of the stairs to the Pirate's Cabin. Arthur would like to point out that he is not normally this warlike !

The Bookburrow was created by local artist Ciara Lewis. Ciara has exhibited widely across the UK, and she modelled the designs on ideas that had appealed to her when she was a child.

The BookBurrow was opened with a special authors' day on 1st July 2012, when Aardvark Books was proud to welcome Walker Books author Katy Moran, and Paul Dowswell, who both talked to children and young adults about their writing.
