Crime, Mystery, Detective Fiction, Thrillers

All of Aardvark’s staff and many of our customers are great lovers of detective fiction, and the bookshop is only a few miles from Leintwardine – the fictional Ledwardine in Phil Rickman’s Merrily Watkins Novels – and within the area described by Ellis Peters in her Brother Cadfael novels  – nearby Bromfield was the setting for the Virgin in the Ice.

We always make sure that we have copies of the classic between the wars detective stories of Edmund Crispin, Josephine Tey, Michael Innes and Gladys Mitchell and the comforting sight of Green Penguins is ever present on the goods in table. Yet we also have copies of all the most popular contemporary writers such as Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, Elizabeth George, Barbara Vine, the Kellerman’s ( father, mother and son ), Elizabeth George and many more. Add in those who are fans of Jo Nesbo and Stieg Larsson, and those who can’t put down the latest Michael Connelly, and you will be able to judge that lovers of detective fiction are on safe ground at Aardvark.

But if we have missed out on your particular favourite author why not let us know !
