Aardvark Events ProgrammeAARDVARK EVENTS 2013 Aardvark Books has an even busier calendar for 2013! If you haven't been to one of our happenings yet, why not come along and find out what we are up to! With the exception of the Food Fair weekend in July, entry to all events is FREE and there is FREE PARKING in our car park or in the neighbouring field. NB Opening times of Art exhibitions are the same as for the Bookshop and Café, unless otherwise stated. February VALENTINE'S MARKET Saturday 9th February 2013 10am - 4pm Gareth Rees- Roberts - Guitar serenades;chocolate extravanganza, and Sarah Rogers Chocolates; children's poetry workshop with The Marches Poets; stalls for that special present; café refreshments. March EASTER PLANT &GARDEN FAIR: Saturday 30th March 2013,10am-4pm With The Cottage Herbery and Dave Luke, also Silvan Massage, Audrey Bradley Paintings & children's painting activities, chocolate and Easter Egg Hunt!

May MAPPING HEREFORDSHIRE: Saturday 4th - Sunday 19th May A groundbreaking curated selling exhibition of antique maps of Herefordshire from 16th - 20th Centuries. Exhibition Opening by Rhys Griffiths, Senior Archivist at Hereford Record Office, 11am Sat 4th May, refreshments.
BANK HOLIDAY BROCANTE Monday 27th May 2013, 9am-3pm Lots of stalls selling everything from textiles to Staffordshire. A winning way to spend Bank Holiday Monday ! June
July MORTIMER COUNTRY FOOD FAIR Saturday 13th July 2013, 10am- 5pm After being filmed for ITV in 2012, the Fair goes from strength to strength. Now in its sixth year the Food Fair will be "loving local food", with many more chefs, demos, author events, and 60 stalls of rare, local and organic food. Live music, and children's activities! Entry: Adults £3, under 16s Free; Free Parking.
NEW! MORTIMER COUNTRY ANTIQUES & ART FAIR, Sunday 14th July 2013 10am-4pm Our first proper antiques & art fair, with lots of stalls, vintage vehicles, food and refreshments! Entry £1 Adults, children under 16 Free.
August: BOOKBURROW THURSDAYS: Look out for our programme of childrens' activities every Thursday in August - summer holiday fun! SCARECROW SUNDAY/BRAMPTON BRYAN CASTLE OPENING Sunday 4th August 2013, Bookshop & Café open 10am-4pm As seen on TV! Once again the village will be awash with Scarecrows. What will be this year's theme ? Also a rare chance to look round Brampton Bryan Castle. Saturday10th - Sunday 11th August: CIVIL WAR BATTLE- The Siege of Brampton Bryan, by over 100 English Civil War Society re-enactors,with many more stalls, cannon and of course the (fireproofed) straw castle! AARDVARK VIDE-GRENIER Monday 26th August 2013, 9am-3pm Aardvark's third VIDE-GRENIER! Stalls can be booked from £6 (first come first served). Food, café refreshments, wine, cider or beer will all be available. PLUS Music from the ever-popular Little Rumba! Free Entry, Free Parking.
September: AARDVARK TEXTILE MONTH! Saturday 31st August-Sunday 15th September 2013: h.ART - Open every day- another stunning selection of textiles by local artists and makers. Monday16th - Sunday 29th September: "Thread and Thrum...A Textile showcase" - outstanding works from the Midlands Textile Forum
October AUTUMN BROCANTE Sunday 20th October 2013, 10am-4pm Aardvark's ever-popular Brocante with yet more fabulous bric-a-brac, antiques and crafts. FREE entry and parking. November AARDVARK WINTER EVENT: Saturday 23rd November 2013, 10am-5pm December: Look out for Late Night Shopping at Aardvark: Thursdays before Christmas, until 7pm (5th, 12th, 19th) AARDVARK CHRISTMAS FAIR Sunday 8th December 2013, 10am-3pm 1000's of present ideas, antiques and local brocante stalls, with live Christmas music, mince pies and mulled wine.
