DIARY DATE FOR the 6th MORTIMER COUNTRY FOOD FAIR!

Saturday 13TH JULY 2013

The 6th Annual Mortimer Country Food Fair is "loving local food" more than ever this year!

Plans are afoot for an emphasis on fresh local produce, and cooking for children and young people, as well as a most exciting Kotlich outdoor cooking competition! We will also be improving facilities for all on site. Entry will be £3 Adults, under - 16s free, with Free Parking nearby. A great day out for all the family, all welcome!

MCFF2012: 14th July 2012, the year we were on TV! Not only did John Challis (of OFAH fame) and Tim Wallers (of "Yes Prime Minister") open our 5th Food Fair, but ITV's "Tasty Travels with Lynda Bellingham" was filmed  on the day too! Lynda made perry pear Welsh Cakes with butter freshly churned at the Fair, in competition with Simply Welsh Cakes. The judges, Little Rumba diplomatically declared it a draw, and the Fair Director Carolyn Chesshire was delighted. Even the rain held off to make it a great day, which included a vintage fashion show by Pepper Lane Vintage, and retro breakfast by Carolyn Chesshire lending it a retro flavour.

MCFF 2011: The 2011 Mortimer Country Food Fair was WILD this time: Herefordshire author John Lewis-Stempel talked about living on wild food for a year, foraging from Herefordshire's lanes, woods and fields, as described in his book, "Wild Food". There were over 50 exhibitors, the weather was ideal, and more than 1500 visitors made the day a great success. Thank you to all who helped make the 2011 MCFF our best yet!

MCFF 2010: The 10th of July 2010 was the day, 10am-5pm is the time,  the place is Brampton Bryan, and the event is the second ever Mortimer Country Food Fair! This year bigger than ever with nearly forty  stalls. Sponsorship from Herefordshire Taste Magazine and much more. All free to visitors, with free parking available nearby.

Co-founder Carolyn Chesshire who is a well known cook and author: 'This area of North West Herefordshire and South Shropshire has some of the best producers of slow food and organic produce in the country - as well as some of the best B & B's, hotels and restaurants to be found anywhere. The Food Fair is our attempt to showcase the wealth that is on offer'.
