Tickets £10, proceeds go to Wigmore Church Community Fund, to help keep the church from closing down.

Alison Weir to Visit Wigmore!

We are delighted to support this event: Alison Weir, the biggest-selling female historian (and the fifth best-selling historian) in the United Kingdom since records began in 1997, is making a return visit to Wigmore, this time to talk about her latest book in the England's Medieval Queens series: "Queens in the Age of Chivalry" which is due to be published in November 2022.

Alison Weir previously visited Wigmore in 2013, to talk about her book "Isabella, She-Wolf of France", and the history of the Mortimers.  She says: "In the light of the impending closure of Wigmore Church, I'm delighted to return to support this fundraising event, in this historic place, which was so much more important in medieval times and has witnessed some of the historic events I write about."

She has published thirty-two titles and sold more than 3 million books - over a million in the UK and 2.2 million in the USA. She is now working on two concurrent series of books: Six Tudor Queens, comprising six novels on the wives of Henry VIII, and England's Medieval Queens, a quartet of historical works of non-fiction.

Sheridan Swinson of Aardvark Books said, "We are delighted to welcome Alison back to Herefordshire, and to be supplying books for signing at this fundraising event and will have copies of her new book: "Queens of the Age of Chivalry" for sale, as well as copies of "Queens of the age of Conquest" and "Queens of the Crusades".

The event begins at 5.30pm and closes with book-signing, at 6.45pm.

Tickets £10, proceeds go to Wigmore Church Community Fund, to help save the historic church.
