Notes:Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. First issue of this county atlas by Sidney Hall. Original boards rebacked with later spine. Boards generally scuffed and worn. Binding tight: a little over-tight. Later pastedowns and endpapers. Front blank torn and discoloured and with ownership and place name to upper front. Title page discoloured. List of maps followed by the maps. General dust-marking, spotting and ghosting to the maps. 46 maps, as called for: 42 double-page and four folding maps (Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Yorkshire - some with tears). The folding maps have small tears to central fold junctions and repairs to verso. Varying scales. Colouring for roads, parks and borders. Being approx. 1857, there are a few mainline railways marked on some of the maps. Atlas size: 21cm by 14cm by 2cm approx.
