Autumn returns
Autumn returns
After a somewhat breathless summer and early autumn we now move into a somewhat quieter period here in Aardvark towers. Ahead lies the Frankfurt Bookfair, our October Brocante, Winter Shopping Event and Christmas Fair and beyond that Christmas itself. These weeks are perfect for carrying out some much-needed housekeeping and some sorting through of the many books we bought over the summer and have been unable to process.
Out of the boxes have been coming interesting volumes on classic comic strips, mind body and spirit and world religion titles, lots of world history and poetry and yet more detective and science fiction stories. Sometimes I think that as soon as I purchase a collection of books I have my mind wiped as when they emerge from the boxes they come as an incredible surprise to me. Many more gems to come and who know we might have time to create another 'meetings with remarkable books' feature.
Still, on a more important note these are your key autumn/winter Aardvark dates:
Aardvark October Brocante - 21st October 10am-3pm; we are nearly fully booked with stalls, but there may be one or two spaces left
Winter Event - Saturday 17th November, 10am-4pm: an Aardvark tradition; live music and some great pre-Christmas offers throughout the shop.
Christmas Fair - Sunday 9th December 10am-3pm; snowed off last year, this time we return with even more stalls and delicious complimentary mulled wine. Not to be missed.
