Ludlow Food Festival, False Lights Book Launch, Syrinx and Harp
It is a truth universally to be acknowledged that books and water are a very poor combination, so congratulations to our dedicated team at this year's Ludlow Food Festival for managing to keep everything dry ( except themselves) amongst the frequent showers. Thank you also to Peter Burden who was a superb compere for the 'Literary Ludlow' strand, and to Katy and Glynn from 'Wots Cooking' for their unstinting help and support.
This week attention turns to our book launch for 'False Lights' the new book by Aardvark staff member Katy ( it is published under the nom de plume K J Whittaker). Katy was on Radio 4's the Today Programme last Friday talking about the book and we can't wait to hear her talk about the journey of writing the book on Friday.
After such a busy September there will be no let up in October as at the beginning of the month we have the much anticipated visit to Aardvark of the Arcadia Music Festival. On Saturday 7th October from 3pm we have a joint bill. First the eminent harpist Hugh Webb will offer an illustrated history and demonstration of the harp, and then after tea and biscuits, the distinguished musicologist Roger Nichols will talk with visual and musical illustrations on the subject of 'Sense and Sensuality' in French music. Roger who was recently made a Chevalier of the Legion d'Honneur by the French government, is a world-renowned expert on French music and I cannot wait to hear what he has to say. Tickets are £10 and can be bought either from Aardvark Books or via the Assembly Rooms in Ludlow.
