New Year and lots of books
New Year and lots of books
I cannot believe that it is already a week since my last blog. The year has turned and I am already getting used to writing 2018 on cheques. We have had a bit of a mini-book buying boom this last week and I am therefore facing the usual quandry as to how I can process the piles of books as quickly as possible. I have come to the conclusion that the perfect bookseller should somewhat resemble and octopus, as only that many hands can get everything done.
I confess that I am quite happy to say goodbye to December, as the snow and ice in the middle of the month made for a very difficult period. I am also still sad about the loss of our Christmas Fair. I was so looking forward to hearing Dutch Lewis again.
But we have a brand new year, and we have fantastic plans for all the things that we are going to do. An early Easter means a race to get everything arranged in time to produce our leaflet at the beginning of February. All information should be up on the website shortly ( we already have details of most items at least in skeleton form). And so let us hope for a year of much reading, and on a personal note I hope to welcome more book lovers than ever to our quiet corner of heaven.
