Fantastic day, beautiful morning
Fantastic day, beautiful morning
A brilliant day yesterday with the Christmas Fair. Good turnout - particularly given the weather and that there were a number of rival events on - and good sales in the bookshop and amongst most of the stallholders. Many thanks to all who braved the conditions ( particularly those exhibitors who set up on Saturday afternoon when the wind was at 70+ miles an hour), and an especially big thanks to Dutch Lewis and his trio who played almost non-stop from 11,20 to 3pm when the event ended. A wonderful start to Christmas.
This morning my drive up was truly beautiful. All the water had gone from the roads, and the sunshine on the woods and fields was of a stunning golden hue. A perfect reminder of why we live here, and why so many visitors come back year after year.
There have been lots of orders coming in online over the weekend, so this morning the team are scurrying around trying to get them out on time ( no pressure then). We have already sold a number of the new art titles including the beautiful 'Frida Kahlo's Garden' which I was thinking about giving to myself as a self-Xmas present. More books to go out over the week however, so plenty of stunning bargains - or perfect gifts.
We have now completed our events programme for the year, and there have been so many highlights that it may well have been our best year ever. Lots of good things coming for 2016, so keep looking at the website for details.
