Dreadful weather, bags finally arrived
The weather for this year's Ludlow Food Festival could not be more disappointing. Even last year in a year of deluges the sun shone, but this time sunshine seems to be in short supply.
However notwithstanding the dreck weather people have turned out as usual this Friday, and hopes are high that Saturday will be as popular as ever.
Meanwhile back at the bookshop our 'Books Are Our Bag' bags finally arrived this afternoon, after the previous consignment had been rejected by the carrier as being water damaged. Rather charmingly we had a personal apology email from the head of the Booksellers Association about the delays in our receiving in our bags, and I only hope that tomorrow will be busy enough to run through our full supply. Bookshops provide an important cultural service throughout the country, acting as a venue, meeting place and ideas exchange for writers and readers. So come on ignore the rain tomorrow and go out and make a bookseller's day!
