Driving rain cannot stop us
Driving rain cannot stop us
Driving in this morning I came through a tropical shower which instantly turned the road into a series of deep puddles. Arriving at the bookshop even Coco didn't want to hang around and dived into the shop in search of a dry place.
After a couple of weeks of non-stop maps ( lots more people came to see the map exhibition yesterday ), today is back to the more usual work of the bookshop. Picking up books and processing the last three buys that we did around Easter time. We have put on all the English language history books we bought, but we still have a number of interesting foreign language books. Allied to that are some travel, fiction and gardening from two other buys from around the same tme. Once all those are clear we can start on the books that I am picking up today, ahead of a big buy in theology and academic religion in less than a fortnight's time. The life of a busy bookshop is an endless wheel of buying and selling books. A chicken and egg conundrum if ever there was one ( what came first ... ).
We are shortly going to be recruiting a part-time member of staff to help us. If you are reading this and know any-one locally who would like to work in a bookshop give us a call!
